Where do I start with Sam?! We met at Summer Stock in 2010 in Utah. She was the Zazu to my Ireland and the first person I instantly clicked with in Utah that Summer! I was on my first solo trip from home and it was 5,000 miles away. Having spent three months in Logan before the crew arrived, I spent days at work or walking. I'll never forget crossing paths with Sam and the instant click we shared in that parking lot at the Pines. Our love for Disney, musicals, painting and coffee made us an instant click. Sam's laugh was infectious - I can still hear it when I think of her. It was cheeky and full of fun!
I had never known anyone with such ambition and without fear. Sam, Carl and I joined forces that first week and became the Three amigos - making fun of the Irish version of three. We had so many laughs… our trip to Bear Lake, camping in Moab, Idaho (the trip that almost killed us all in the the river rapids)!
Sam was like a little sister- I loved her so much but at the same time we would fight over something trivial. I guess that is why we worked so well together. The photos, the memories, the fun, the fear, the laughs and the tears. We spent many a night watching a Disney film or working the spot lights in the cove sharing stories of family and dreams.
Sam always talked about Zumba and always received the most amazing care packages from her Mum, which made me so jealous, but she always shared. We always talked about meeting up in Pennsylvania or Ireland one day. Because of her I felt so at home and so happy that summer. It was one of the best times of my life and I pray she comes home some day so we can meet up again like we promised. Caroline McNamara
